Essay --
All About Explorers was developed by a group of teachers as a means of teaching students about the Internet. Although the Internet can be a tremendous resource for gathering information about a topic, we found that students often did not have the skills to discern useful information from worthless data. So we set out to develop a series of lessons for elementary age students in which we would demonstrate that just because it is out there for the searching does not mean it is worthwhile. A typical novice strategy for searching the Internet is to type the topic into the address bar. For example, if you are researching Christopher Columbus, you naturally would look first at www.columbus.com. Unfortunately, as you will see if you click on this link, that is not helpful. Neither is www.columbus.org, which takes you to the Columbus, OH, Chamber of Commerce. There are many less benign examples of site names that do not relate to the topic they appear to be about. Seize the Opportunity
Have you ever seen the movie ââ¬Å"YES MANâ⬠with Jim Carrey. I believe most of you do, which is one of my favorite movie. in this movie, Jim Carrey goes to this motivational seminar which teaches that you have to say ââ¬ËYesââ¬â¢ to everything in life, and this will open unimaginable doors. So, Jim Carrey starts to say ââ¬ËYesââ¬â¢ to everything and he starts to have all these amazing experiences and learns so many different . He got a promotion for his job, he find a girlfriend, and of course itââ¬â¢s a happy ending. Movies always come from reality, but it beyond reality.I think blindly saying yes to everything is not such a good idea, it will open opportunities and also might put you in trouble, so Itââ¬â¢s easy to see many plots in this movie are not gonna happen in our life, but it still give us an important idea, which is having a positive attitude to every opportunity can bring success to you. We couldnââ¬â¢t live like a yes man say yes to everything , but we can use the following skills to seize the opportunity, which are say ââ¬Å"yesâ⬠more often, have a positive attitude , take more risk. First of all, itââ¬â¢s impossible to say ââ¬Å"Yesâ⬠to everything, but you could almost certainly say ââ¬Å"Yesâ⬠to more than you do.When your friends invite you to join them to do something they like, and that youââ¬â¢ve never tried, what would you say. Do you take the chance to try it, or do you just put them down because you are too busy to do something else . If the first time human being saw the fire, and not try to make a fire, I guess we wouldnââ¬â¢t exist in this planet today. We all have potential, and potential is possibility. the only way to increase possibility is to learn more knowledge , to see more things, and to make more choices. So, letââ¬â¢s try it. Say ââ¬Å"Yesâ⬠to something you would normally turn down.Try different food, try different music, have a conversation with different typ e of people. If you are shy, take guy wayââ¬â¢s public speaking class. If you are noisy, try to be quiet and learn something from other. The world is huge, we should open ourselves to more opportunities, instead of staying where we are. Second, Positive attitude is very important to be successful and happy. Have you ever looked at people who always seem happy and enjoy life and wish you could be more like them? We are living in the same world, for some people, life is suffering, because they are easily broken down by any little trouble.For other people, life is paradise, because they have a positive attitude to face trouble. They always believe they are stronger than who they are, and they have more possibility to defeat any problem. According to Dr Becca Levy, a Harvard University social psychologist who focuses her research on aging and attitudes, a positive attitude will let you live longer. Therefore, never give up your belief. Whenever you give up , you close the door to suc cess. Being curious and happy, and with humor. Those positive attitudes will finally help you to seize the opportunity.Last, opportunities wonââ¬â¢t last forever, and people always regret. According to wiki, the definition of opportunity is :a chance for advancement or profit and A favorable occasion or time. So, it takes risk and also short lived. When youââ¬â¢re sitting on couch watching TV, how much risk you are taking, and how many opportunities come to you? When a man start a new business, he is not only taking risk, but also taking advantage of an opportunity. Also, when you have your target, just do it and donââ¬â¢t hesitate, cause chance won't wait for you forever.For many examples, men want to chase a girl they like, they always want to set up a perfect time and encounter. However, when they finally get to the right time, someone else has already got there. Opportunity are not prepared for you, itââ¬â¢s for everyone. If you donââ¬â¢t take risk, you will regre t forever. In conclusion, in this huge planet, anything is possible. In order to follow your dream, you should size every chance. Saying ââ¬Å"yesâ⬠is way to open more possibility, having a positive attitude will keep things going smoothly, and taking risk will lead you to success directly. Are You too Old for Graduate School Is it Ever too Late
Laid off after more than a decade in the corporate world, a reader asks, At 42 years of age, is it too late for a career in science? I stayed with the job for its fantastic pay. Thats over and Ive always wanted to make new discoveries. Is it too late to go to graduate school? The quick answer is no. Age will not hurt your application if youre prepared. Itââ¬â¢s never too late to learn new things, carve out a new career path, and go to graduate school. But it may be more difficult to gain admission to graduate school after several years or decades in a career as compared with fresh out of college simply because of the gap in your education. Whatââ¬â¢s much more important than the amount of time elapsed between earning your bachelorââ¬â¢s degree and applying to graduate school is what you have done with that time. Many fields, like business and social work, often prefer applicants to have some work experience. Science fields emphasize a background in science and math. Recent coursework in these areas will aid your application. Demonstrate that you can think abstractly and have the mind of a scientist. Learn About the Graduate Program: Do You Meet the Basic Requirements? Once you have decided to apply to grad school after years away from academia your job is to carefully examine each graduate programs requirements. Are there any stated expectations about a particular major, coursework, or outside experiences? Evaluate your background and skill set. Do you have the basics? If not, what can you do to enhance your application? You might take classes in statistics, for example, or volunteer to work in a faculty members lab. Volunteering is easier once you have taken a class or two and have a basis for a relationship with a professor. That said, it never hurts to ask as every professor could use an extra set of eyes and hands. GRE Scores are Important! Good scores on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) are part of every successful application. However, if youââ¬â¢re applying to grad school after several years, your GRE scores may be even more important for your application because they indicate your potential for graduate study. In the absence of recent indicators (such as graduating within the last few years), standardized test scores may be scrutinized more closely. Solicit a Range of Recommendation Letters When it comes to recommendation letters, there are a variety of options for students who have been out of college for several years. Try to obtain at least one that evaluates you within an academic context. Even if youââ¬â¢ve graduated a decade ago you may be able to obtain a letter from a faculty member. Unless you were particularly stellar, he or she may not remember you but the university has a record of your grades and many faculty keep a permanent file of their grades. Even better, if youââ¬â¢ve recently taken a class, request a letter from your professor. Also get a letter(s) from recent employers as they have a current perspective of your work habits and skills. Be Realistic Know what youre getting into. Graduate study is not glamorous and not always interesting. It is hard work. Youll be broke. A research assistantship, teaching assistantship, and other funding resources can pay for your tuition and sometimes offer a small stipend but youre not going to support a family on it. If you have a family, think about how youll manage your family responsibilities. Where will you study and how will you carve out uninterrupted time? You will have more work than you can imagine and it will require more time than you plan. Think about it now so that youre prepared later - and so you prepare your family to support you as needed. There are many students who combine grad school and family quite successfully.

Since its inception, this event is organized by BT and Sons Farming Equipment every year in November. Among other purpose, this event is primarily organized to introduce the latest farming equipment, management techniques, and business operations to the farmers, other professionals and companies involved into the farming business. With its planning every year, they have been making some improvements and progress every year. These changes are managed by its board. To manage an event of such a large scale, they need to recruit volunteers in high numbers who are very essential to the success of Riverina Agriculture Lifestyle Show. Recruitment and management of volunteers are taken care by Globex. The funds collected through the event are transferred to Indigenous Community of Volunteers or ICV, who offers its assistance providing them with the volunteers. Complete process and operations of the event are looked after by i ts volunteers. Volunteer management and assigning them with the tasks and responsibility was managed by the staffs of Globex through manual system. But, now with the increases scale of RALS, they find it difficult to manage this with their existing manual system. They are facing several issues in managing the event due to its time taking and slow manual system. Globex has now decided to shift to an automated system for the same, which would be far more intelligent and fast then their existing system. This will not only reduce their work load but will also help them save time and money in long term. For this purpose they have approached Virtucon to develop a Rostering system for them. New system that is being developed will store all information and data, and it will process all backend work for the appointment of volunteers.
